Understanding the BDS movement, understanding key terms, history of the Israel-Palestinian conflict

  • Opening Parent Session -  showing of the documentary "Crossing The Line 2" and discussion with the director, Shoshana Palatnik
  • Teen Session I - Showing of "Crossing the Line 2" and discussion with Lisa Armony, OC Hillel Executive Director and Presentation by visiting Israeli professor, Mohammad Wattad, with discussion on why claims by the BDS movement are wrong and unfounded.
  • Teen Session II - "How to Recognize Biased Reporting" - program with member of Honest Reporting
  • Teen Session III - "What is Jewish Student Life on Campus Like?" - Panel discussion with Rabbi Evan Goodman of UCSB Hillel and Tina Malka, Hillel International and current UCI students
  • Session IV - "Why Be an Advocate and Who are the Campus Players" - Roz Kozak from Jerusalem U presented

YEAR TWO - 2017


  • Teen Session I - "Why Bring Your Judaism to College" with Rabbi Ed Feinstein and "How to approach the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict" - presented by visiting Israeli Political Science professor , Denis Chabrit
  • Teen Session II - "What We are Seeing in College Campuses Today" - Presented by Lisa Armony, Executive Director of Hillel OC and panel discussion on "How to Navigate the Current Campus Climate" - with visiting panelists Tina Malka, associate director of Israel education for Hillel International  and current college students and recent alumni
  • Teen Session III - "How to Engage in Civil Dialogue on Controversial Topics like the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict" - interactive discussion lead by Myriam Charbit, Director of Civics and Shared Learning Education, Center for Educational Technology in Tel Aviv
  • Closing Parent Session with ADL on the Delegitimization of Israel and the Rise in Anti-Semitism on college campuses, with Rabbi Peter Levy the ADL Regional Director.



  • Opening Parent and Teen Session - "Be Part of the Story", presentation by Zeev Ben Shachar from Jerusalem U
  • Teen Session I - Discussion on Zionism with Joshua Ladon from Shalom Hartman Institute and Understanding Israel after 1967 led by Lisa Armony, Executive Director of The Rose Project
  • Teen Session II - Discussion with Hillel Administrators and college students on Jewish campus environment, rewards and challenges
  • Parent/Teen Session III - Discussion with Rabbi Peter Levy, ADL Orange County Director, on defining, identifying and what to do when encountering anti-Semitism and Therapists from JFFS discussed the importance of positive mental health during these pre-college years and beyond.
